When I visited California, I found the ocean to be fascinating; however, what was just as intriguing was the floor of the ocean beside the shore when the water had receded. At a particular rocky beach, brilliant red rocks of various shades and dazzling white rocks decorated the revealed ground. What else could I do but point my camera straight downward and capture the beautiful collage at my feet so that I could paint it later?
‘Looking Down at Low Tide’ is painted using professional-grade oil paints on an 8-inch x 10-inch canvas board and mounted in a 10-inch x 12-inch floater frame. It also comes with a certificate of authenticity and a provenance report.

The flaw of the painting is a sort of ring shaped bump near the bottom of the dark red rock. I didn’t edit it out of the scans I took of the painting for prints because it looks intentional on them. However it is clearly a raised bump on the painting.
