Looking out over the smooth white rocks and the rough, porous, red rocks congregating on this beach, you can barely see the silhouette of the land peaking through the mist on the other side of the bay. Above, a storm has passed, driven by the wind that still licks at the waves as it scatters the clouds from the sky and beckons the return of the sun.
I was awestruck by the stark whiteness of the rocks on this beach and how they contrasted against the world around them. Smoothed down and piled high by the tide the spread out across the shoreline like a sculpted blanket of stone. I hope that the scene enthralls you as much as it did me. the wind that still licks at the waves as it scatters the clouds from the sky and beckons the return of the sun.
‘The View from a Rocky Beach’ is painted using professional-grade oil paints on an 8-inch x 10-inch canvas board and mounted in a 10-inch x 12-inch floater frame. It also comes with a certificate of authenticity and a provenance report.
When I painted this piece, I used a limited palette of red, bluish-green, yellowish-green, black, and white, and I have to say that the colors worked perfectly for the piece. If anything, they make the scene look even more vibrant than if I had simply matched the colors to the photograph

The flaw of the painting is line that runs from one side of the painting to the other along with the outline of a small hill in the middle of the painting at the bottom of the clouds. It only noticeable close up and it has been edited out on the digital version of the image and so will not appear on any prints or on any of my merchandise with an images of this painting on it.
